Dr. Banigan is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, and practices clinically as an attending physician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in both Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Anesthesiology. Her academic focus is on improving the safety of perioperative care for critically ill children through quality improvement, clinical operations, and simulation education, with a particular interest in bridging the ICU-to-OR continuum.

With a Master's in Education and 13 years of experience guiding talent development and designing customized leadership programs, including for top-tier educational institutions and national organizations, Claire Becker partners with organizations to support their leaders and teams in enhancing strategy, engagement, and performance.

Stefanie Blain-Moraes is an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering and Occupational Sciences and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia. She leads the Biosignal Interaction and Personhood Technology (BIAPT) Lab, which aims to develop technologies to assess consciousness and sustain relationships with minimally communicative persons. Broadly, her research focuses on: 1) developing tools to detect levels of and capacity for consciousness across altered states of consciousness (e.g., anesthesia, disorders of consciousness); and 2) creating technologies to support arts-based interactions (e.g., music, dance, therapeutic clowning) that build relationship and connection with minimally communitive persons.

I enjoy simulation and medical education and am passionate about advocating for the best, most up-to-date, evidence-based care for our patients. I serve on the ASA BOD and am part of the SPA Simulation SIG. Please don't hesitate to reach out to collaborate on projects and submissions. Dr. Brown is a congenital cardiac anesthesiologist at Boston Children's. She has a longstanding interest in quality improvement, safety, and risk adjustment. She is the current chair of the pediatric quality committee for the Multicenter Perioperative Outcomes Group (MPOG).

Andrew J. Costandi, MD, MMM, is Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is also a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Costandi oversees the department’s clinical, academic, and strategic initiatives across the Divisions of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Palliative Care. Since joining CHLA, Dr. Costandi has held several leadership positions, including Division Chief of Anesthesiology, Anesthesiology Director for Radiology and Anesthesiology Director for Abdominal Solid Organ Transplantation. His clinical and academic interests include pediatric abdominal solid organ transplantation, perioperative outcomes, operating room efficiency, workforce development, and healthcare systems improvement. He has led initiatives to improve access, quality, safety, financial and operational performance across anesthesiology and perioperative services. Dr. Costandi earned his medical degree from Cairo University. He completed his anesthesiology residency in New York and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also earned a Master of Medical Management from the USC Marshall School of Business. Nationally, Dr. Costandi is active in pediatric anesthesiology and has contributed to multidisciplinary efforts to advance standards of care for children undergoing liver transplantation. As an educator, mentor, researcher, and scholar, he has authored or contributed to peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, national presentations, invited lectures, and professional society initiatives. He is an active member of several national professional organizations, including the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, and serves in leadership roles focused on advancing pediatric anesthesiology and transplantation. Dr. Costandi is committed to developing people, strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, and advancing exceptional care for children and their families.

Dr. Nina Deutsch is Chief of the Perioperative Anesthesiology Division at Boston Children's Hospital. She has been actively involved in both clinical and education-based research throughout her career. On a national level, Dr. Deutsch served as the President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA) from 2020-22. She is also happy to be the Immediate Past Chair of the Women's Empowerment and Leadership Initiative in SPA.

I am the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at Stanford University’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Professor in Stanford’s Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. As the Division Chief, I lead over 70 dedicated pediatric anesthesiologists and peds pain psychologists. My clinical expertise is pediatric cardiac anesthesiology and pediatric cardiac inventive care. My scholarly work has focused on medical simulation, pediatric anesthesiology, pediatric critical care, mentoring, and leadership. Since 2014, I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA) and serve on the SPA Executive Committee. I am currently the SPA Past President. In my former institution, Washington University, I was the director of the pediatric simulation center at St Louis Children’s Hospital and was the Assistant Ombuds at the Washington University School of Medicine. I am also a member of a national Disaster Medical Assistance Team which is a component of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Chris D. Glover, MD, FAAP is Professor of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Associate Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at Texas Children's Hospital, where he provides executive leadership for one of the nation’s largest pediatric anesthesiology programs. Dr. Glover’s clinical interests include pediatric perioperative medicine, abdominal transplant anesthesia, craniofacial anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and complex pediatric surgical care. He is deeply committed to medical education and has held numerous residency, fellowship, and faculty development leadership positions throughout his career. Nationally, Dr. Glover serves in leadership roles within the American Society of Anesthesiologists, where he chairs the Committee on Professional Development and is an active member of the Economics and Professional Diversity Committees. He also serves as Economics Chair and Delegate for the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists. Within the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, Dr. Glover has served as President of the Pediatric Craniofacial Collaborative Group, Executive Committee member, Communications Committee member, and faculty moderator for national regional anesthesia workshops. He currently serves on the Pediatric Anesthesia Leadership Council Board and remains actively engaged in advancing pediatric anesthesiology through leadership development, workforce innovation, mentorship, and advocacy. His scholarly work focuses on perioperative outcomes, pediatric pain management, difficult airway research, quality improvement, and healthcare economics. Dr. Narasimhan “Sim” Jagannathan is a pediatric anesthesiologist whose work focuses on airway management, pediatric patient safety, trainee education, and optimizing anesthesia staffing and business models. His clinical research centers on improving airway techniques and outcomes in children, and he has led numerous randomized trials evaluating advanced devices and strategies in pediatric airway care. Dr. Jagannathan currently serves as Chief of Anesthesiology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Arizona. He previously spent 17 years as Professor of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and as a pediatric anesthesiologist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He continues to commute regularly between Chicago and Phoenix, where his family resides. He is Section Editor for Airway Management at Anesthesia & Analgesia and serves on the editorial boards of Pediatric Anesthesia, Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, and Journal of Anesthesia. He is also an active ad hoc reviewer for multiple journals. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Jagannathan holds an MBA with focus areas in healthcare strategy and operations. Dr. Jagannathan is the current President of the Society for Airway Management and a Board Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology, where he also serves as a Question Editor for the Advanced Written Exam. He is a past President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia’s Pediatric Difficult Airway Registry Task Force. He has co-edited multiple textbooks on pediatric and adult airway management, including Management of the Difficult Pediatric Airway.

Michael Kaczmarski is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at Nemours Children’s Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University, completed his anesthesiology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, and completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center/George Washington University in Washington, DC. At Nemours, he serves as Director of Education for the Department of Anesthesiology and as the Anesthesiologist Liaison for the Complex Posterior Spinal Fusion Program. Outside of Nemours, Dr. Kaczmarski has had his work presented at the state, national, and international levels and is beginning a term as an American Board of Anesthesiology question author.

Dr. Lalwani completed residency training in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in England at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, King’s College and Royal London Hospitals, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. After two years as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Seattle Children’s, he moved to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland in 1999, where he is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics, Vice-Chair for Faculty Development, and was the first Director of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship program since its inception in 2002 until this academic year. Dr. Lalwani has been extensively involved in education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty for research and career advancement. He served as the Chair of the OHSU School of Medicine Admissions Committee and is the Past-President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia. In his spare time, Dr. Lalwani loves to travel, and is an avid scuba diver, skier, and crime fiction afficionado.

Dr. Lisa Lee is an Associate Professor at UCLA Health specializing in Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Anesthesiology. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine/UCLA Medical Center in 2015, following a residency in Anesthesiology and a Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a master’s in clinical research at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work has been recognized and cited in several publications, including Anesthesia and Analgesia, Journal of Pediatric Surgery, and British Journal of Anaesthesia. Her research interests have been geared towards improving the perioperative outcomes in pediatric patients with airway/respiratory problems.

Scott Markowitz, MD, MSOL, BCC, is the Founder of Physician Leadership, LLC, a specialized coaching practice focused on the professional development of Leaders in Academic Healthcare. Drawing on his dual background as a practicing physician and a Board Certified Coach, Dr. Markowitz integrates professional experience with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership to provide structured, evidence-based executive coaching. Dr. Markowitz coaches Chairs, Vice-Deans, high-potential clinicians and other healthcare leaders to achieve professional vision, optimize team culture, and manage high-stakes organizational transitions.

Dr. Mason has edited five textbooks, including Mason’s Pediatric Sedation Outside the Operating Room and Total Intravenous Anesthesia and Target Controlled Infusions: A Comprehensive Global Anthology.  She has served on FDA advisories for sedation, chaired international sedation task forces, created Adverse Event Sedation Reporting Tools which are in widespread, on-line use, and has conducted FDA approved pediatric studies using Dexmedetomidine.She has authored or co-authored more than 125 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. She is PI for multi-center FDA trial for remimazolam for pediatric labelling

Dr. Clyde Matava is a staff anesthesiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. He is Associate Chief of Perioperative Services at thr Hospital for Sick Children and Director of Informatics, Innovation and Technology in the Department of Anesthesia, Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Matava has created and designed several apps, won several teaching and innovation awards.   His clinical interests include airway management and regional anesthesia. His academic interests are the intersection of clinical informatics, data quality and new technologies including artificial intelligence. He is past President of the Canadian Pediatric Anesthesia Society and the immediate Past President of the Society of Technology in Anesthesia. He is also past chair of the Epic Specialty Steering Board. He is Associate Editor at Pediatric Anesthesia, Journal of Medical Systems and the journal Anesthesiology.

Peggy P. McNaull, MD, serves as System Chief Medical and Quality Officer for UNC Health, a position she assumed in December 2024. In this capacity, she oversees quality and patient safety across UNC Health’s 20-hospital system, with responsibility for advancing high standards of care throughout the organization. Before joining UNC Health in this role, Dr. McNaull served as the Frederic A. Berry Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia and as Professor of Pediatrics. She began her healthcare career as a nurse and, after earning her BS from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in Atlanta, practiced as a registered nurse in neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. She continued to serve as an RN while earning her MD from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. McNaull completed her anesthesiology residency at the University of North Carolina, where she was Chief Resident, followed by fellowships in pediatric anesthesiology at UNC and pediatric cardiovascular anesthesiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. McNaull is nationally recognized for her expertise in pediatric anesthesiology and for her leadership in advancing high-quality, safe patient care. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology and is currently President-Elect of the organization. In addition, she serves on the boards of UNC Rockingham and UNC Health Alliance. Dr. McNaull is also actively engaged with the American Board of Anesthesiology, where she serves as an Applied Examiner and as Vice Chair of the Advanced Exam Committee. Dr. Sanjiv D. Mehta is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as Informatics Champion and Associate Medical Director of Analytics for CHOP’s Division of Critical Care Medicine, where his work focuses on using clinical informatics, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve recognition of deterioration and support safer decisions for critically ill children. His research spans pediatric ICU deterioration prediction, diagnostic excellence, critical care outreach, and practical implementation of AI-enabled tools in clinical workflows. Dr. Mehta completed his MD, Master of Bioethics, and Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania, and his pediatric residency and critical care fellowship at CHOP.

Dolores B. Njoku, MD, is the Wise Professor and Vice Chair of Anesthesiology, and Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis. She is an adjunct Professor in Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis and Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Njoku received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed a residency in Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as Chief Resident. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology and fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and was full-time faculty from 1997 – 2021, where she served as Program Director for the Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from 2007 – 2018 and completed the 3rd River Servant Leader training program. In July 2021, Dr. Njoku joined the faculty at Washington University in St Louis. Dr. Njoku is an internationally respected educator and translational researcher in immune-mediated liver injury and focuses on mechanisms that initiate immune-mediated liver injury and the role of sex and gender in the severity of this process. She is the Pediatric Anesthesiologist-in-Chief of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, a member of the Department of Anesthesiology Promotions Committee, Chair of the Children’s Hospital Medical Executive Committee and a Faculty-at-large Representative for the Washington University in St. Louis Faculty Practice Plan and Faculty Practice Plan representative to the Executive Committee of the Faculty Council. She is a nationally recognized educator and lecturer. She serves as a member of the ACGME Review Committee for Anesthesiology and a Full Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology where she serves as Chair of the Standard Oral Exam. Dr. O'Neil is an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University. She is currently the pediatric anesthesiology fellowship program director and has a presence on the national level, writing exam questions, setting national standards for the boards, and recently elected the PAPDA board. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her boys and being outside as much as possible!

Dr. Olbrecht is the Chair of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, and a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She is currently President-Elect of the Society for Pediatric Sedation and serves as the Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed residency in Anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received an MBA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Olbrecht’s research is focused on improving pediatric pain with innovative, non-pharmacologic therapies. She has received over $1.1 million in funding both for her research and device development and recently completed an R34 from the NIH to develop a clinical trial protocol for the integration of biofeedback-based virtual reality in perioperative pain management. Outside of work, Dr. Olbrecht enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and 7-year-old daughter, Marcella, and exploring new parts of the world.

Mary Dale Peterson, MD, MSHCA, FACHE, FASA, past President of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and the recent Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Driscoll Health System as well as Emeritus Staff of Driscoll Children's Hospital and Adjunct Associate Professor Texas A&M University. Dr. Peterson received her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and completed her Doctor of Medicine and anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Peterson also completed a Master of Science in Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio. She is board-certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine and practiced clinically for over 30 years. She has also served as President of Driscoll Health Plan, a Medicaid/CHIP plan serving almost 200,000 children and pregnant women.

Dr. Sara B. Robertson is an professor of pediatric anesthesiologist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She received her B.S. in biology summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2006. She earned her M.D. degree from UMMC in 2010. She did her anesthesiology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (2010-2014) and pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (2014-2015). She is heavily involved in medical student, resident, and fellow education and serves as the program director for the anesthesiology residency and division chief of the pediatric anesthesiology division at UMMC. She has given numerous presentations and case reports at national meetings. Her research interests include pediatric difficult airway management. Dr. Robertson resides in Madison, Mississippi, with her husband, Dr. Hess Robertson, and daughters, Lucy and Louise.

Luis I. Rodriguez, MD FASA is a Pediatric Anesthesiologists that currently works at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL. He obtained his Medical Degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Luis Razetti School of Medicine. Moving to the US and completed anesthesia residency and Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Served as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Miami until 2023. His research interests include electronic medical records data analysis to improve patient safety and physician quality metrics, awareness and OR efficiency. He currently serves in the Executive Board of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists and serves as Florida Delegate for the ASA House of Delegates. Dr. Rodriguez serves as a Faculty Mentor for medical students, residents and fellows. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa and children Ignacio and Alejandro, enjoying outdoor activities.

Ethan is a dual trained physiciian who practices in the Pediatric ICU and Anesthesia at UT Southwestern in Dallas. He is the Medical Director for ECMO, a solid organ transplant anesthesiologist, an editor and contributor to the Pediatric Anesthesia Article of the Day, and an active clinical researcher.

Dr. Alecia Stein is the current Co-Chair of the 40th Annual SPA meeting in 2026, the Chair of the 2027 Annual SPA meeting. She is the Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia at U Miami/Jackson Children's in Miami, FL and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesia. She has also been the Annual Meeting Chair for the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists since 2023, a FL delegate to the ASA, and was just elective to the Executive Committee of the FSA as Assistant Treasurer.

Dr. Lena S. Sun is board-certified in Pediatrics, Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology. She is Professor of Anesthesiology, and Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center. She had previously served as the Chief of Division of Pediatric Anesthesia at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital-New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Sun has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has received funding for her research from NIH, FDA and several different foundations. Her research focus is on the neurodevelopmental effects of exposure to anesthetic and sedative agents in infants and young children. She was the principal investigator of the multi-site Pediatric Anesthesia & NeuroDevelopment Assessment (PANDA) study, which is considered a seminal clinical study in developmental anesthetic neurotoxicity. Dr. Sun was elected to serve as Councilor-at-Large, then the treasurer of AUA (Association of University Anesthesiologists), an honorific society for academic anesthesiologists. She currently is a member of the Executive Committee of AUA, Wake Up Safe and the Section of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine of American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Sun has been a mentor for dozens of trainees and junior faculty and supported their career development. Many of her mentees have become successful clinician-educators and independent physician-scientists in anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology and pediatric critical care.

Cameron was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He obtained a degree in Biology at Furman University where he met his wife. After completing medical school at University of South Carolina - Greenville, Cameron began his training in Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University. After finishing residency, Cameron completed a Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at UPMC - Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He has since returned to Winston-Salem, NC where he lives with his wife and daughter. He has professional interests in pediatric regional anesthesia as well as faculty and resident recruitment.

Dr. Taicher is a Professor of Anesthesiology & Pediatrics and currently serves as Chief of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.

Wes is a Professor of Anesthesiology who has recently joined the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) after a 22-year career at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in one-lung ventilation in young children, regularly lectures across the country, and is an active clinical researcher in pediatric anesthesia. At Wake Forest, he also served as Director of Faculty Development for the Department of Anesthesiology, supporting the professional growth of nearly 130 faculty members. He is particularly passionate about mentoring early- and mid-career faculty in their professional development.

Dr. Williamson has practiced pediatric anesthesiology and critical care medicine since 2008. She is a staunch advocate for medical education at the undergraduate, resident and fellow level and has served as an anesthesiology program director. Her goal is to use technology to elevate humanism and patient care and to decrease burnout in our profession in the face of ever-increasing demands.

Dr. Theodora Wingert is an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Clinical Informaticist in the UCLA Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, where she serves as Director of Perioperative Informatics Research and Co-Director of the Informatics Division. She is board certified in Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology, and Clinical Informatics, and her work, published in Anesthesiology, Anesthesia & Analgesia, and the British Journal of Anesthesia, focuses on applying data science and machine learning to improve perioperative safety, particularly for high-acuity pediatric patients. She is a recent recipient of the FAER Mentored Research Training Grant and NIH K08, and is building a research program at the intersection of pediatric anesthesiology, informatics, and implementation science to advance precision analytics and AI-driven decision support.
