Dr. Ellen Basile is a pediatric anesthesiologist currently working at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando Florida. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine then completed anesthesiology residency at Drexel University followed by fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Her career has been devoted to clinical patient care, service, and leadership. Currently she is taking her career in a new direction doing research, focusing on a passion which is gender gaps and bias. Dr. Basile and Byrd have partnered many times before this project, and continue to work together!

Alyssa Burgart, MD, MA, FAAP (she/they) is a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology in the Stanford University School of Medicine. She also serves as affiliated faculty in the Stanford Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in the School of Humanities and Sciences. She holds numerous leadership positions related to clinical and organizational ethics in the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. She is the current co-president of the Stanford Chapter of the American Association of University Professors. Dr. Burgart is certified in clinical ethics consulting, trauma-informed professional coaching, and relationship-centered communication.

is an accomplished Registered Nurse with over 29 years of experience in critical care and emergency transport. He holds a master’s degree in nursing and has dedicated his career to providing high-quality care in high-acuity and prehospital environments. His clinical background includes 12 years of hands-on experience as a Pediatric Emergency Room and Pediatric Transport Nurse, along with 14 years as a Flight Nurse, delivering expert care in both ground and air transport settings. For the past 3 years, he has also served as a Simulation Educator, leveraging his extensive field experience to train and mentor healthcare professionals through high-fidelity, scenario-based simulation.

Heather Byrd obtained her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then went on to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC for anesthesiology training followed by a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has been practicing pediatric anesthesiology at Augusta University in Augusta, GA since 2014 where she is currently the Associate Program director for their Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship. Her interests include disparities among females in the field of anesthesiology.

I am a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at University Hospital Plymouth, UK where I am also currently the Divisional Director for Women’s and Children’s Services. I have particular experience in looking after children and young people with severe anxiety and behavioural disorders attending for procedures or surgery. I am the clinical lead for the Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network in the South West of England and oversee all surgical services being delivered at the 10 hospitals in the region . I sit on the NHSE National Clinical Reference Group for Surgery in Children which writes specialised surgical service specifications. I am the president of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland. I have worked on council for over 10 years, and most recently have driven the establishment of the Paediatric Perioperative Care committee and was the lead author for the recently published the Best Practice Guidance for Paediatric Preassessment Services.

Dr Sumit Das is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Oxford University NHS foundation trust (appointed 2006). He studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London and trained in anaesthesia in the South of England and worked as a Visiting Instructor for one year in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. His clinical interests are anaesthesia for craniofacial surgery, interventional radiology and remote site anaesthesia. Dr Das has lectured nationally and internationally on these topics. He has a longstanding interest in online education and high fidelity simulation In 2020, he was elected to the Council of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists (APA). He became an Education Editor for the research journal, Pediatric Anesthesia and Honorary Secretary for the APA. ​In 2022, Dr Das became the first Anaesthetist to be elected a full member of the European Society for Craniofacial Surgery (ESCFS).

Dr. Nina Deutsch is Chief of the Perioperative Anesthesiology Division at Boston Children's Hospital. She has been actively involved in both clinical and education-based research throughout her career. In addition to this, she greatly enjoys working with and mentoring junior faculty in both research and educational projects. On a national level, Dr. Deutsch is a past President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA). She is also happy to chair the Women's Empowerment and Leadership Initiative in SPA.

Melissa Egge, MD is a clinical associate professor of pediatrics: board certified in Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics. She attended medical school at Loyola University -Stritch School of Medicine, Chicago. She finished her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Child Abuse at Harbor-UCLA in Torrance, CA. She currently works at Stanford Children's as a child abuse consultant and as medical director for the child abuse programs at Natividad and San Mateo Medical Centers.

I am the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at Stanford University’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Professor in Stanford’s Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. My clinical expertise is pediatric cardiac anesthesiology and pediatric cardiac inventive care. My scholarly work has focused on medical simulation, pediatric anesthesiology, pediatric critical care, mentoring, and leadership. Since 2014, I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the SPA, on the SPA Executive Committee and I am the current SPA Past President.

Randall Flick, M.D., M.P.H., is a consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a joint appointment in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Flick recently competed nearly 10 years as Director of the Mayo Clinic Children’s Center. In that role he oversaw all pediatric activity across the Mayo Clinic Enterprise reporting directly to the Mayo Clinic Dean for Practice and to the CEO. He holds the academic rank of Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics. Dr. Flick received the R.N. diploma from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing and the B.A. degree in biology from Moorhead State University. He earned the M.D. degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine (AOA) and the M.P.H. degree from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Flick completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University; a residency in anesthesiology at Barnes Hospital-Washington U.; and a fellowship in advanced specialty training in pediatric anesthesiology and intensive care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 1995. He holds board certification in four specialities including pediatrics and pediatric critical care (ABP) as well as anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology (ABA). Dr. Flick is a past president the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia Board of Directors and previously chaired the ASA Committee on Pediatric Anesthesiology. For the United States Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Flick has served as Chair of the Advisory Committee on Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products (AADPAC) and as a member of the Pediatric Advisory Committee (PAC) reporting directly to the FDA commissioner. Dr. Flick currently serves as a member of the National Institutes of Child Health and Development Pediatrics Study Section and as a site reviewer for the American College of Surgeons Childrens Surgery Verification Program. In the community, he has served as president of the local Ronald McDonald House Board, is a Global Medical Advisor to Americares International, a current trustee of the Minnesota Zoo and a past board member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, Women’s Empowerment and Leadership Initiative (WELI). Recognized as an international expert in his field, Dr. Flick has presented at numerous local, regional, national, and international meetings. He is a prolific publisher, with over 100 peer- reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters to his credit. Dr. Flick’s research interests include outcomes in pediatric anesthesia, neurodevelopment effect of anesthetic exposure, and quality in pediatric hospital care. He is Co-PI on a federally funded study of the effects of anesthetic exposure on the developing brain (R01 HD071907-04, MASK Study) and co-investigator on a follow-up study (R01 HD099147-01A1) Neuroimaging Studies in Pediatric Anesthesia Neurotoxicity. Annery Garcia-Marcinkiewicz, MD, MSCE, is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania. She is the Associate Division Chief of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for General Anesthesiology, and the Director of the Difficult Airway Program at CHOP. Dr. Garcia-Marcinkiewicz is passionate about improving the safety of pediatric airway management and airway education. She is the site PI for the Pediatric Difficult Intubation Registry at CHOP and enjoys engaging other interested sites in performing airway research. Dr. Garcia-Marcinkiewicz serves on the board of Women in Anesthesiology and is the current President-Elect. She is passionate about improving the inclusion of women and underrepresented in medicine colleagues into academic medicine. Dr. Garcia-Marcinkiewicz received her undergraduate degree from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, at the City University of New York, where she studied biomedical science. She graduated from the New York University School of Medicine and completed her Anesthesiology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 2015. Dr. Garcia-Marcinkiewicz then did her pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at CHOP and remained on faculty since 2016. She then obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. Her current focus is the development of an Airway education and research lab called the Pediatric Center for Airway Research, “PCAR”.

Sara Gorman, PhD, MPH is a public health expert and author based in New York. She has written extensively about psychology, misinformation, science denial, and behavioral science, among other topics. Her work has appeared or been reviewed in TIME, The New Yorker, Science, Scientific American, Psychology Today, The Atlantic, New York Magazine, Daily Kos, and NPR, among others. Sara’s first book, Denying to the Grave: Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us, was published by Oxford University Press in September 2016, and a revised edition was released in June 2021. The book examines the psychology of healthcare decision making and theorizes about public perception of risk. It includes tips for the general public about how to discriminate between valid and invalid science and pointers for public health professionals and doctors on how to communicate with people who don’t believe what science has taught us about health. The book has been translated into Chinese and Portuguese. Sara’s second book, Vital Signs: Distrust, Democracy, and Public Health in America, is now under contract with Oxford University Press and will be released in early 2024. Sara is also co-founder of Critica, a community committed to making rational decisions about health. Critica’s mission is to develop and test new methods of advancing public acceptance of scientific evidence and promoting informed health decision-making.

Dr. Groenewald is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. He conducts clinical research that crosses several areas related to pediatric pain, including epidemiology, health services research, sleep, and opioid use behaviors. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health. His work on pediatric pain has been published in JAMA Pediatrics, Pediatrics, PAIN, Journal of Pain, SLEEP, and JAMA Psychiatry. Dr. Groenewald holds national leadership positions in the United States Association for the Study of Pain, including being elected as inaugural Chair of the Pediatric Special Interest Group in 2020 and co-chair of the Advocacy committee in 2022. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Pain and Pain Medicine.

Roberta Hales is the Simulation Center and Research Program Manager at the Center for Simulation, Advanced Education, and Innovation at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She completed her Master of Healthcare Administration with a minor in Adult Training and Organizational Development at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She has a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy and Associate of Arts in Nursing. Robbie has been in simulation since 2005. She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and Master Trainer for TeamSTEPPS. Additionally, she locally serves as a key instructor and committee member/planner for the Philadelphia Simulation Facilitator Course and Simulation Annual Consortium. She served for 7 years as an adjunct associate professor at Drexel University, for the Master of Healthcare and Medical Simulation Program. Robbie has published numerous articles and chapters - mostly recently on the pandemic experience, competence-based assessment, bootcamps, virtual debriefing and faculty development. She has served in numerous appointments in the International Pediatric Simulation Society including Education Co-chair, Board of Directors, Executive Secretary, President Elect, President and Past President. Most recently, (January 2022), she received the Society of Simulation in Healthcare- Simulation Director of the year award.

Dr. Elizabeth Hansen is an Associate Professor at Seattle Children’s Hospital and a faculty member in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. She is passionate about sustainability in anesthesia and efforts to green the operating room as part of her commitment to environmental justice and equity. She chairs the Perioperative Green Team at Seattle Children's Hospital and is an active member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia Special Interest Group for Sustainability. She leads an international consortium of pediatric anesthesia groups in reducing emissions from inhaled anesthetics called Project SPRUCE.

Andrew Infosino is a Professor at UCSF in the Department of Anesthesia and Peri-operative Care and the Department of Pediatrics. He did his residency in anesthesiology at UCSF, his fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. And then joined the faculty at UCSF in 1996. Andrew's clinical interests include physiology in infants and children, the pediatric difficult airway, single lung ventilation in infants and children, and emergence delirium. He has been very involved in anesthesia education at UCSF and nationally. He is the section editor for pediatric anesthesia and on the board of directors for ASA’s Anesthesia Toolbox, an online learning platform. Andrew is on the ASA Committee on Pediatric Anesthesia, as well as the Educational Tract sub-committee and the Abstract review sub-committee for Pediatric Anesthesia. He is actively involved in the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA) and is on their education committee and the SPA Global Committee. He is co-chair of the SPA Global Education Committee and editor of the SPA Global online Lecture Series. Andrew is actively involved in fellow and junior faculty well-being and professional development and is a strong believer in the need for diversity, especially in leadership positions. Justin L. Lockman, MD, MSEd is Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, and clinically practices as attending physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in both Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Anesthesiology. He serves as the Education Leader for his Department. Justin is a long-time contributor to the SPA Education Committee and is a past president of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Program Directors’ Association. Justin is also a husband, father, triathlete, and jazz pianist who has released several albums.

Concetta Lupa is the current President of PAPDA and has been the pediatric anesthesiology program director at UNC since 2013. She has enjoyed her involvement in fellowship education, both locally and nationally. In her free time, she brews kombucha, bakes and cooks, and enjoys spending time with her husband Chip, and her daughters, Anna and Emilia. Her dog, Coco is pretty amazing too.

Lynn D. Martin, M.D., M.B.A. is a Professor Emeritus of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He received his M.D. from the University of Washington School of Medicine (1982) and his M.B.A. for the University of Tennessee (2010). He completed residencies in both Pediatrics (Phoenix Children’s Hospital: 1982-86) and Anesthesiology (Johns Hopkins University: 1986-88) followed by fellowships in pediatric anesthesiology and pediatric critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University (1988-90). He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with specialty certification in pediatric anesthesia and the American Board of Pediatrics with specialty certification in pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Martin was on the faculty at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions (1990-93) and Seattle Children’s (1994-2023). While at Seattle Children’s, he served as the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine (2001-14) and Medical Director for Continuous Improvement and Innovation (2013-20). Dr. Martin was elected to the board and officer of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, ultimately serving as the 13th President of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (2010-12). During his tenure as president, SPA celebrated their 25th Anniversary by hosted the first International Assemble for Pediatric Anesthesia (IAPA) in Washington, DC (2012). Perhaps best stated by the SPA Newsletter Editor at the time (Dr. Sean Flack) “I hope you will be inspired to continue the work that IAPA started. Ultimately, the success of IAPA will be determined by the friendships made in DC, relationships established between people and centers, and a commitment from all of us to work to improve patient safety, both home and abroad.” Dr. Martin was also instrumental in the creation of the Myron Yaster lifetime achievement award which acknowledges a lifetime contribution to the society’s mission.

Peggy P. McNaull, MD, is the Chief Medical and Quality Officer for UNC Health, a role she assumed in December of 2024. Prior to assuming this new role, Dr McNaull was the Frederic A. Berry Professor and Chair of the University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Anesthesiology and Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. McNaull embraced the department’s history of excellence to provide anesthesiology services across multiple sites, train the next generation of anesthesiologists, and develop anesthesiology research programs, while exploring new opportunities to innovate and advance the department in response to the ever-changing healthcare environment. In this role, Dr. McNaull recruited and retained a group of preeminent faculty. The department and its faculty, under her leadership, reached new heights in clinical care, education, research and community endeavors. Dr. McNaull started her career in healthcare as a nurse. After completing her BS at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in Atlanta, she practiced as an RN in Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. She continued to serve as an RN while earning her MD at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her Anesthesiology residency at the University of North Carolina where she was Chief Resident. Subsequently, she did her Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at UNC before completing a Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesiology fellowship program at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. From 2009 until 2018, Dr. McNaull served as UNC Department of Anesthesiology’s Division Chief for Pediatric Anesthesiology. She fostered the development of preeminent programs in pediatric anesthesia care including the only anesthesia-managed Pediatric Pain and Sedation Service in the state of North Carolina. In 2014, Dr. McNaull was appointed as her department’s first Vice Chair for Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. In this role, Dr. McNaull advanced the efficiency and quality of care across the department and UNC’s operating rooms in many ways, including opioid stewardship, and enhanced recovery after surgery programs. In 2018, Dr. McNaull was appointed the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Quality and Safety for UNC Hospitals’ main campus in Chapel Hill where she was also integral in spreading some of the flagship programs she led, across the state through UNC Health’s system-wide care redesign effort. Dr. McNaull has a national reputation in pediatric anesthesiology. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology and currently serves as the society’s President-elect. She recently co-chaired a task force charged with re-envisioning the future of the Pediatric Anesthesiology ACGME program. Additionally, Dr. McNaull is very involved in the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) where she serves as an Applied Examiner. She has participated in written exam development since 2009 as a question writer and editor. Dr. McNaull was recently selected by the board of directors to serve as the Vice Chair of the Advanced Exam Committee. Dr. McNaull finds the greatest joy in being with her husband, Stewart, and their five amazing children Ben, Eli, Addie, Anderson and Molly.

Dr. Rebecca Nause-Osthoff is a Clinical Associate Professor, pediatric anesthesiologist, and Director of Medical Student Education at the University of Michigan. She is also the Vice Chair of SPAERS for SPA and the Chair Designee for the Medical Student Education Committee for SEA. In these roles, she is passionate about exposing early trainees, such as medical students, to the field of pediatric anesthesiology, creating robust educational experiences for medical students within anesthesiology, and advocating for effective and equitable advising for medical students interested in applying to anesthesiology residency across the nation.

Dora Ngwang Thu, Nov 3, 2022, 10:32 AM to April Dr. Ngwang is a double boarded pediatric and adult anesthesiologist. Her home base is currently Atlanta, GA and currently works as a locums physician in community as well as holds academic appointments. Dolores B. Njoku, MD is the Wise Professor and Vice Chair of Anesthesiology, and Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis. She is an adjunct Professor in Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis and Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Njoku received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed a residency in Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland Ohio, where she served as Chief resident. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology and fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and was full-time faculty from 1997 – 2021 where she served as Program Director for the Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from 2007 – 2018. In July 2021, Dr. Njoku joined the faculty at Washington University in St Louis. Dr. Njoku is an internationally respected educator and translational researcher in immune-mediated liver injury and focuses on mechanisms that initiate immune-mediated liver injury and the role of sex and gender in the severity of this process. She is a nationally-recognized educator and lecturer. She is the Pediatric Anesthesiologist-in-Chief of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, a member of the Department of Anesthesiology Promotions Committee, Chair of the Children’s Hospital Medical Executive Committee and a Faculty-at-large Representative for the Washington University in St. Louis Faculty Practice Plan. She is a member of the Board of the United Way of Central Maryland. She serves as a member of the ACGME Review Committee for Anesthesiology and a Full Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology, where she serves as Chair of the Standard Oral Exam. She is also a Chair of the NIH Board of Scientific Councilors, the recent past Chair of the Board for the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research and the President of the Association of University Anesthesiologists.

Stephanie Pan, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine and a pediatric and regional anesthesiologist at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. She is the Associate Clinical Director for the pediatric anesthesiology division at Stanford. She is a Local Mentor for the ASA Diagnostic POCUS Certificate Program and recipient of the ASRA Early-Stage Investigator Grant. Her clinical interests include methadone, pediatric regional anesthesia, pediatric POCUS, and pediatric orthopedic spine surgeries.

I have been a faculty in pediatric anesthesia for the past 15 years after completing my training and fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children in the UK. I am currently working at St Jude Children's Research Hosptial. My niche areas of interest are safety in pediatric anesthesia, and anesthesia for children with cancer and rare hematological diseases. I have been representing my institution in Wake Up Safe for the past 7 years and have been recently appointed as the co-chair to the Quality committee in WUS.

Dr. Paquin is an Associate Professor of Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. With a focused expertise in pediatric sedation and congenital cardiac anesthesia, she has made significant contributions to advancing care in these specialized fields. Her research includes notable publications on dexmedetomidine, emphasizing its applications and benefits in pediatric anesthesia. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Paquin serves as the Director of Quality Improvement and Accreditation for Procedural Sedation at Cincinnati Children’s, where she is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety and care for sedation practices across the institution

Dr. Kemia Sarraf brings decades of healthcare experience to her trauma-responsive Keynote speaking, consultation, interactive engagement, and small group facilitation. Her presentations are deeply interpersonal, engaging and focused on narrative healing. She weaves complex neuroscience into her storytelling, making materials both accessible and actionable. Dr. Sarraf (“Dr. K” as she is most often known) completed her Medical Degree and Master of Public Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and her residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine. The arc of her career has included patient care, public health program development, nonprofit leadership, business ownership, multiple board positions, and farming. Dr. K founded Lodestar in 2016, specializing in trauma-responsive coaching methods for physician experiencing high levels of severe burnout, vicarious trauma, and moral injury. Her background in public health and trauma inspired her to create advanced training programs in trauma-responsive coaching, leadership, culture-change, facilitation and professional development. Lodestar programs are currently deployed across industries in both the public and private sector, providing advanced leadership training and organizational culture development. Dr. K serves in an adjunct faculty position at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine with dual appointments in the Dept. of Medical Humanities and in the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, bringing a trauma-informed lens and trauma-responsive approach to institutional Justice, Equity and Anti-Racism work. A captivating storyteller and powerful keynote speaker renowned for her boundless compassion, wisdom, and humor, Dr. K’s process guides audiences through the pain of collective experiences into aspirational hope about what can be built. And she does so with both gentle humor and searing honesty. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her leadership and vision, and was an AMA Women Physicians Inspiration Award Honoree in 2021. Kemia and her physician-husband have been married for more than twenty years, and the couple reside on a small working farm in Central Illinois with their four sons and "too many critters to count.”

Devika Singh, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She serves as an attending pediatric anesthesiologist at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). With 18 years of experience in simulation-based educational activities, Dr. Singh completed the facilitator’s course at CHOP and the Institute of Medical Simulation in Boston in 2013, as well as Team STEPPS training in 2015. She also holds a master’s in medical education from the University of Pennsylvania which she completed in 2018. Dr. Singh has developed multiple simulation educational programs and curricula, including a multi-institutional pediatric anesthesia fellows boot camp, now in its 15th year. She mentors junior faculty in the development and execution of simulation-based educational sessions for residents and fellows. As a co-director and standing faculty member for the ABA-endorsed MOCA center at CHOP, Dr. Singh has been actively involved with the ASA-endorsed MOCA simulation offered at the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA) meetings for the past decade. She has both developed and contributed to various simulation workshops for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and other organizations. These sessions have highlighted pediatric anesthetic techniques, perioperative PALS training using high-fidelity mannequins, navigating difficult conversations with families, and addressing challenges faced by new faculty. Additionally, she is an active member of the SPA simulation special interest group (SIG).

Joseph (Joe) Sisk, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina (UNC). Prior to joining UNC in 2021, he attended Medical School and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He then completed his Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan where he served as the Chief Fellow. He worked as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at the University of Oklahoma from 2016-2021 where he served as the Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship. Dr. Sisk holds American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) Certifications in the specialty of Anesthesiology and the sub-specialty of Pediatric Anesthesiology. He served on the on the planning committees for the 2021 Society of Pediatric Anesthesia – American Academy of Pediatrics (SPA-AAP) Spring Meeting, the SPA 2022 Annual Meeting, and was Program Chair for the SPA 2023 Annual Meeting. Dr. Sisk's academic interests center around Patient Safety and Quality Improvement (PSQI). Locally, he serves as the PSQI Liaison for UNC's Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, and on a national level, he is the Editor-in-Chief for SPA Case Guides.

Dr. Jonathan Tan is the Division Chief of General Anesthesiology, the CHOP Endowed Chair of Pediatric General Anesthesiology, and the Distinguished Endowed Chair in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is the Founder and Director of the Spatial Health Lab, a multidisciplinary team focused on developing geospatial data science solutions for advancing health care delivery. By linking high-resolution environmental data with electronic health records, his team delivers actionable insights that inform hospital readiness and policy decisions. Their work has been recognized by global organizations including the World Bank, AccuWeather, ClimateWeek NYC, and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Dr. Tan serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, co-chairs the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation’s Safety Advisory Group on Clinical Deterioration and is the Communications Chair for the Society for Technology in Anesthesia.

In 2023, Eric joined the faculty of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems Excellence in the newly engineered role of Chief Patient Outcomes Officer. He is also a Professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine. He is passionately outspoken on many topics including: quality and safety science, health information technology, innovation, leadership and organizational behavior. Dr. Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University and his Master of Science degree from Duke University, both in Biomedical Engineering. He pursued medical education at Duke University and received his pediatric training at Baylor College of Medicine. He subsequently trained in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Duke University where he was a fellow of the Pediatric Scientist Development Training Program. He returned to Baylor in 2004 in the Section of Critical Care Medicine. At Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s for almost 20 years, he “evolved” through several roles within the organization, including: Medical Director of the PICU in 2008, Medical Director of Quality for the Section of Critical Care and the Heart Center in 2010, Chief Quality Officer for Pediatrics in 2014, Chief Medical Information Officer in 2016, System Chief Quality Officer for Texas Children’s in 2018 and an Interim role as Chief Medical Officer for the Texas Children’s Health Plan. Along the way he received both the Baylor Pediatric Award of Excellence in Teaching and the Award of Excellence for Presentation at Baylor Pediatric Grand Rounds. He received a Master’s Degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012.
