The training focuses on the management of routine and complex post-operative pain in children. Learning opportunities will include clinical experience, didactic instruction, and participation in research and/or quality improvement. The advanced fellowship will create specialists uniquely qualified to plan and perform single-shot and continuous regional anesthetic techniques and manage the perioperative analgesic needs of both acute and chronic pediatric pain patients. The fellow will receive a 12-month hybrid faculty-fellow appointment equivalent to 0.5 FTE. Time will be divided between approximately two months of acute pain, one and half months of regional anesthesia, one month of chronic pain, two months of research/quality improvement/academic time, four and half months as a clinical instructor, and one month of vacation. Position is for Summer 2027.
