Editor's Corner

Rita Agarwal, MD, FAAP

It's the summertime
and the weather is warm
It's the summertime
and ORs are hot
It's the summertime
and patients all swarm
It's the summertime
and our free time is shot

OK, so I'm not much of a poet, but I realize how incredibly busy everyone is and wanted to thank all the contributors to this issue of the newsletter.

I hope you have fun reading Point/CounterPoint on NPO Guidelines. Dr. Mancuso, Children's Hospital, Boston, has done a great job putting together an entertaining and informative piece.

Dr. Hoshi Khambatta has contributed a wonderful and thorough review of Fetal Surgery.

Dr. Jeffrey Galinkin, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has once again produced a Fellows Corner. We really want to try and get more fellows involved in this endeavor; the fellows at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Children's Hospital, Denver are getting tired of our constant nagging!! It's a good thing we now have new fellows to pressure. This is a great opportunity for Pediatric Anesthesia Fellows from all over the country and/or world to get their name in print and to contribute to the newsletter.

Drs. Cheryl Gooden and Allison Kinder Ross have contributed interesting reviews on emergence agitation in children and the optimal volume of local anesthetic for performing a caudal block

Dr. Anne Lynn describes the upcoming SPA/JSPA meeting in her President's Message. I encourage everyone to read it and plan on going. Hopefully we'll see you in San Francisco at the St. Francis Westin Hotel

As always anyone interested in being part of the Communications Committee, or with any ideas for the Newsletter please let me know Agarwal.Rita@tchden,org
