Job Description:Pediatric Specialists of Virginia is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center to provide services across many different pediatric surgical areas (Orthopedics, Urology, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology).  Responsible for overall provision, direction, and quality of all anesthesiology services provided to PSV patients.  The Ambulatory Surgery Center has two operating rooms and PSV will consider a candidate seeking a full-time or part-time opportunity. 


Perform a pre-anesthetic evaluation and provide pre-operative instructions and preparation.
Ensure all ordered pre-anesthetic diagnostic tests results have been received and document review of said
Develop an anesthesia plan and discuss with the patient/family.

Be available during induction, and throughout the procedure for consultation, if not personally administering the anesthetic.
Continuously monitor the patient until the patient is in stable condition in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and care has been turned over to a PACU nurse.
Communicate to the PACU personnel the patient’s intra-operative course and pertinent medical history.
Document on the Post Anesthesia Care Record all significant events of the peri-operative phase of patient care.
Before discharge, evaluate each patient in accordance with applicable state health and safety standards.
Follow all commonly accepted infection control procedures and use personal protective devices, as appropriate.
