Program Info & Highlights: Join a close team of six self-sufficient, pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists capable of caring for critically ill cardiac patients in a solo-cardiac anesthesiologist setting. No CRNA's within the practice. Teaching expectations in the clinical setting for fellows. Every 5th night call on average and monetary incentive for extra call. Cardiac call week on/post call week off scheduling. Arkansas Childrenâs Heart Institute, ranked higher than any other health system in a 300-mile region on U.S. News & World Reportâs annual list of Best Childrenâs Hospitals The Heart Institute has two CVORs, a cath/hybrid room, an electrophysiology lab, interventional radiology suites, cardiac CT and MRI locations and main OR areas for patients with significant cardiac disease; 3-5 sites per day. Cardiac Peri-Anesthesia Care (CPAC) Unit is staffed by a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist and cardiac CPAC nurses who are also trained as CVICU nurses. Unit consist of 30 CVICU beds and step-down ICU. In 2025, we had approximately 174 CPB-assisted cases and 133 non-CPB cardiac surgical cases, 694 cath lab cases, 623 non-cardiac surgery, interventional/diagnostic radiology, and other procedures.
