Job Description:The Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University along with the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is seeking a talented MD/DO board-certified (or equivalent) pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist, to lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team at VCU. This position will be offers the unique opportunity to participate in clinical practice, academic endeavors, as well as fellow, resident, and medical student education. Experience in the full spectrum of congenital heart disease is expected, including complex neonates, adult congenital heart disease, mechanical cardiac support, and heart transplantation. This individual will be responsible for coordinating anesthesia care on all patients with congenital heart disease, including but not limited to, the operating room, the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory, and non-invasive laboratory for sedated echocardiographic and cardioversion procedures. The ideal candidate will have formal training in Pediatric Cardiac anesthesiology, or will have considerable experience in Pediatric Cardiac anesthesiology. Leadership experience is also strongly desired, and the ability to work collegially within a multidisciplinary system is essential.
